The first step in creating your custom dental implant treatment plan is a consultation, where we will discuss your concerns and goals for how you hope dental implants can improve your quality of life.
We will discuss your dental concerns, smile goals, and medical history. If you’re a good candidate for dental implants, we’ll collect detailed measurements and digital diagnostic images to create the foundation of your new smile design. We will customize every detail of your smile design, from the shape and color of each tooth to how your new teeth match your facial structure and gum and lip line.
As with every Hometown Dental Family & Implant Dentistry, you’ll rest comfortably with safe and effective dental sedation. If you need tooth extractions, we may be able to place grafting material and implant posts in the same appointment. In other cases, we’ll make a small incision in the gums to access the underlying bone and place your implants into predetermined spots within your jawbone.
During the 3-6 month healing period, you’ll have a follow-up appointment to assess the integration of your implants. This appointment includes a detailed discussion, where you can discuss your healing progress and any concerns. We will examine your implants and the healing of your sutures to ensure everything is proceeding as expected. Before you leave, we’ll provide a clear timeline for when you should return to receive your final restorations.
Your dental implant posts will fuse with the surrounding bone tissue during osseointegration. Most of your healing process will be very comfortable, and most patients report tolerable discomfort for the first few days.
Once your mouth has healed, you’ll return to our office for updated scans and to have your final restorations placed. These final restorations are hand-crafted from the highest-quality material and built to last. Dr. Sharvil Shah is a distinguished graduate of University of Louisville School of Dentistry (Class of 2016). He got his undergraduate degree from University of Michigan.
In the short time since graduation, Dr. Shah has taken tremendous strides in mastering the art of dentistry. He has received extensive continuing education across the country which has earned him the honor of being Fellow of Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD).
He is also a graduate of the distinguished Kois Center, which is one of the best training institutes for dentists.
His extensive training enables him a deeper understanding of his patients’ dental concerns and allows him to offer a range of creative solutions for his patients.
Dr. Mandiwala’s focus is to restore optimal oral health and provide comprehensive care to patients and their families. He believes in making every visit of yours, a comfortable and pleasant experience through empathetic communication, evidence-based treatment, and timely follow-up.

Dr. Mandiwala is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Michigan Dental Association (MDA) and CDS (Chicago Dental Society). He regularly takes continuing education courses and attends conferences throughout the year to keep up with the rapid advances in dental technology and education. He believes in comprehensive care and smile restoration and provides treatments under all disciplines of dentistry, like crown-bridge, root canal treatment, fillings, dentures, implants, teeth whitening, etc. He is also a certified Invisalign provider and offers cosmetic treatment options.
Dr. Mandiwala and his wife, who is also a dentist, both went to the same dental school in India and US, to get their dental degrees. However they hardly talk about dentistry at home, instead they spend their time traveling, woodburning, and taking up DIY art projects. He enjoys watching and playing soccer and cricket.
